My Cats

What are 5 everyday things that bring you happiness?

First day in the garden “It’s big out there!”

They’re the youngest. Then we have the middle two.

Taking a rest from daddy duties

The two boys took the kittens on and literally parented them. They didn’t like them out of their sight, and cried at the door at night when we shut the kittens in. Even though they, and Hito below, were incredible, you do need to be eyes on as kittens can be tiring to older cats.

Plus our Major Domo as he’s called, as he’s very good at communicating his needs and expects them to be met, immediately. He’s also been the kindest daddy to four very naughty kittens.

The girls are beautiful and sweet too, and these guys are an example to humans of how to be inclusive.

Most animals are. There are many stories of animals helping each other in times of crisis.

He loves a good book

That’s the norm covered but…

Five everyday things that make me happy are:

  • Katrina
  • Luke
  • Kim
  • Working with my beautiful groups
  • Anyone who is kind

There’s a lot more to it, but the things above are the things that lift me, get me through a day, ground me, and remind me what’s important.

My beautiful, kind, cats. My dearest friends. The ladies who have trusted me with their spiritual journey, and given so much to mine. And the single male in group one, who had the courage to join a group of women on what is often seen as a feminine journey. My husband Tony.

You have to admit, that’s truly courageous.

Expansion

But I was thinking this morning about how some people seem to have no empathy for others. They blunder through the world saying what they like, carrying prejudice, insulting on social media and perhaps in their everyday lives.

It’s easier to be unkind using a keyboard so they may treat those in their lives more kindly, perhaps because they know they’d get punched if they spoke in person as they do from behind a computer screen.

I was wondering why those people can’t expand their thinking to understand how others feel. To treat others in the way you wish to be treated. I still have no answer, the closest I can come is that they must have been treated very badly in their lives. But then that should expand your thinking from anger towards the desire to be different, shouldn’t it?

I do know that I would add a sixth thing to this list if the world became a lot kinder.

If animals can, we can.

Best love

May you meet nothing but kindness today

May you be nothing but kindness today

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
