I Honestly Don’t Know

Do you believe in fate/destiny?

I have never really given this idea much thought, but my first reaction was no, which was surprising, so I’ll keep writing and find out why.

The King

He had a destiny, which also became his fate. As the heir to throne this is where his life was going from the age of 2. He could have said no, but the choice would never have been offered to him, nor would he have asked for it, like his grandfather and mother before him.

That’s a destiny wrapped up in fate to me, something you can’t avoid.

Me

I have no such problem. Being born ordinary has its benefits.

An ordinary person has the choice to be anyone they want to be, sadly it doesn’t feel that way to so many. Yet many ordinary people have a dream that they go on to realise spectacularly.

Anyone can go into politics and if you really believe in yourself you can run a country. In the case of America, and maybe other countries, if you have a lot of money you can buy your way to the top.

What stops us?

If you have a destiny but don’t believe in yourself, will you still get there?

I don’t think so unless you change. I hadn’t realised how my life events had undermined my faith in myself so much that I went into every adventure expecting to be hurt. Not consciously of course, just waiting for it. Of course it happened.

I don’t think that way anymore. Step on my toes now and I will politely suggest that you step off. Attack me as a person and I’ll ask you to take a step to one side, then I will simply walk past you.

I think I had options of several destinies: playwright; poet; politician; journalist; TV interviewer; history Professor and commentator; speaker and inspirer. I do work inspirationally to help others their way.

Free will

We’re always exercising it even if we feel we’re not. That’s hard to believe at times, but some people climb out of what’s holding them back and achieve great things. If one can we all can.

However, a mental hammering will be a huge drawback as you expend your energy trying to remain sane. I recommend Joe Dispenza and Ho’oponopono for that.

People with physical disabilities can struggle in two ways, obviously. For a start this world isn’t set up to give them every possible opportunity. Just navigating pavements (sidewalks) can be a nightmare. But many of them are brave beyond measure and a great example.

Professor Sir Stephen Hawking was one. But never underestimate what it takes for someone with physical disabilities, mental heath issues, or both, just to get out of bed in the morning. If they can.

Coming back to that free will – it takes a lot of determination to use it well. When I was knocked back I allowed it to affect me due to my mental health struggles, that was free will working against me. My determination was used getting up in the morning, getting through a day, and keeping going.

I wouldn’t allow that now. I’d dust myself off and move forward.

Fate and Destiny

So I think fate and destiny can exist, but you need to take action to manifest them. Always choose the good stuff though.

It’s self-belief, a dream, determination, and correctly applied sheer pig-headed stubbornness that make the difference.

Good mental health helps too. As your mind creates your thoughts creates your life, at all costs take care of that mind.

Whisper it to your new born babies, protect them fiercely from negativity, teach them stoicism, and that alone will give them every chance.

Whisper it to yourself too, until you believe it. “My mind is my life and no one else is allowed to alter my chosen programming!”

This just came to me

  • I have a right to be myself.
  • I have a right to define myself.
  • My mind is my power and it’s sacred to me.
  • Only I programme it.
  • My mind will remain flexible and open to better programming that is life affirming and creates happiness.
  • I listen then choose to accept, dismiss, or modify.
  • I chose my success, and I chose my happiness.
  • A happy mind equals a happy life whether or not that equals success…
  • Happiness is the greatest success.
  • I will be happy and build from that positive foundation.
  • At all times I will believe in my right to happiness, in myself, and in my power to create whatever I want.

Happy happy happy day

P.S. Is there a difference between fate and destiny? Who cares, just makes good choices

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
