War

If you could permanently ban a word from general usage, which one would it be? Why?

But it’s not the only word I would ban. I would ban all insults, all racism, all genderism, all sexism, all nationalism, and I would make the world repeat the word love 1000 times a day until everyone felt it towards everyone and everything.

It’s not war or peace, it’s war or love.

If you know how to love, war is unthinkable. Racism is ridiculous. Genderism makes no sense. Nationalism is pathetic when we need to be looking after the planet and making sure we all survive, including the animal and insect kingdoms. We rely on them for our survival.

Why do we think we have the right to kill at all?

A natural predator is way better than ahuman with a gun. Why do we pride ourselves on being able to kill unsuspecting prey from a distance? Including each other? I don’t get it.

Natural predators always took care of nature until we came along and became too impressed with ourselves. Without us this world would be stunning.

I would also ban all religions. If you can’t believe in a religion without killing over it then you’re not religious in the first place. Men decided to add the killing to the word of God. Even ‘Thou shalt not kill’ didn’t work in their minds.

It sickens me when people parrot the lie that God is on our side in a war. It’s fake news! God loves all his children. He made us all. if you believe.

If you don’t then a man and woman got together to make even more cannon fodder, and that’s wrong too.

As always great respect to the millions of men out there who agree with this, and just want their families to be safe. Too many good men throughout history have lost their lives fighting for peace only to see that sacrifice thrown away the next time another man wants to beat his chest to prove how strong (yet utterly pathetic) he is.

Not forgetting the fact that women fight to defend their countries too nowadays, and have always been weapons of war. As we saw in Israel on 7th October. As have children, as we have seen recently in Gaza.

So yes I would ban the word war with a long list of work-around words associated. Like Special Military Operation. I knew what was going to happen, world leaders must have known. We saw it in 1936/9. It was a clue.

Sorry about the rant, I know I’ve written about this before but it’s a dereliction of everything I hold dear to shut up.

I hold you, out there somewhere, dear. A stranger. You matter. Your family matters, your pets matter, your life matters.

I want you all to have the best, happiest, carefree lives possible. I want animals to be safe. I want this world to thrive. I want the planet to blossom and the animal kingdom to be restored and treated with respect.

Yes I’m called naive, by people who use the cop out that humanity is bad and violence will never stop, it’s unrealistic to believe in better.

It’s not unrealistic. We have good and evil. It is possible to have more good, overwhelming good.

I’m called a dreamer, but I’m not. I’m a person who knows that if you put a loaded gun on a table nothing bad will happen, unless someone picks it up. It’s not the weapon it’s the human, every single time.

Realistically we can stop all war and violence. It is possible.

As to woke, I’ll leave you with the words of Jane Fonda at this week’s SAG awards.

Woke means you give a damn

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx

  1. We need peace, not war, as they say. Well, we hope and pray for that always. As much as I can, I choose love, as what my answer in the prompt today. Wonderful thoughts, deb!
