What would you do if you won the lottery?

I originate from London, it’s the only place I feel at home. I learned this when I attended my mother’s funeral a mile from my first and second homes.
It was sad to be happier that day than I had been for 30 years, but it was also okay because mum definitely understood. She died on the South Coast and finally found her way home. Like me, she never wanted to leave.
Apart from that I could finance my own plays, or a theatre group. Have holidays. Publish books. Help people. Tony could have his motorbike – and retire. He would like to help with charity projects. No big flashy stuff, a house has to be a home for us. Good safe garden for the cats.
However, it has been interesting to live in other areas of the country and we’ve made wonderful friends that we still have. We’ve come to know places that we might otherwise have just driven through, and explore so much in the way of nature and culture.
I may be a Londoner at heart, perhaps we’re all born in the right place, but living in other areas is a privilege because it opens you to new experiences and refreshes your life.
Thankfully my New Zealand husband is also a Londoner at heart. But grateful he was born somewhere else to have that experience and so many good memories.
How lovely to come into a lot of money from something like the lottery rather than a sad loss, but we are happy anyway.
Deb xx
