Hit a Brick Wall?

Are you feeling that you’ve been struggling to move forward, yet for every step you take you seem to be taking three steps backwards? Ever thought you’re going in the wrong direction, or doing something you don’t authentically, in your heart, want to do? That’s often the bit we don’t think about. Could this be wrong for me? Not am I doing something wrong or the fates hate me, but is this right for me.

Instead of banging your head against it, allow the wall to stop you. Take stock. Get out of your head into your heart, because it doesn’t matter how logical an idea is, if it isn’t what you really want then life will refuse to play ball.

Is it the universe stopping you, or are you subconsciously causing it to happen? It honestly doesn’t matter as long as you take blocks as a message to go within and take some time to reconsider your plan.

Architecture appears for the first time when the sunlight hits a wall.
The sunlight did not know what it was until it hit the wall.

– Louis Kahn

I discovered this saying today. It struck me pretty forcefully, you might say ‘like hitting a brick wall’. It made me think about how often we don’t know ourselves, our own strength, our capacity to change and flex, redirect our energy, until we hit that brick wall. Instead of a barrier it can be an illumination if you allow it. If you stop. Wait. Do nothing until you’re sure what you want.

We can stubbornly hold on to what we believe to be right, yet flexibility in life can have much better rewards. Even something that should be great because you really want it can actually not be the greatest thing for you. Always trust that if you’re stopped there is something better out there.

So if you’ve hit that brick wall, imagine the sun on it, and that you’ve found the light to help you find what’s right.

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
