You’re expecting cats

I love my cats but not because they’re cats, because they’re them. I was raised with dogs and I love dogs. When I decided I wanted pets cats fitted into our lifestyle better. They still do. I wouldn’t trust myself at a dog rescue centre though.

The truth is if it’s alive it matters, I love animals. Wild animals fascinate me. What we are doing to them breaks my heart.

How can something as destructive as humanity possibly think it’s the most important thing in the world?

There is nothing we don’t try to destroy, even mentally and emotionally. I doubt that the trolls on social media realise that they’re murderers. Would they even care?

This is why I love animals, well that and they’re magnificent. They do no deliberate harm.

Insects are key to the survival of this planet, and whilst loving an earwig or rat may be a challenge, I would certainly never hurt one willingly.

Our old Taekwondo instructor always made us scoop up ants and remove them safely back to nature. The sight of the senior belts scrabbling around the floor shooing ants out was an eye opener when you first saw it, and such fun when you were one of them.

It reminded us all we’re not the master race and being a black belt was a duty and responsibility, not a badge of honour.

I’ll leave you with a quote from Gregg Hurwitz who writes thrillers, mainly the Orphan X books.

How you do anything is how you do everything

Gregg Hurwitz

How you hate becomes you and what you do, ditto with how you love. Why not love?

That’s perhaps the most vital question facing humanity right now.

Some will call me woke, and yes, I am awake. Hate destroys – Gaza, Ukraine, Syria, entire species of animals. Love builds and creates.

Why not love?

More importantly – why hate? It’s only fear in disguise.

Not quite as impressive as my cats, but close. 😉🤣😻

I love you

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
