So Many

What cities do you want to visit?

Rome

Tony and I have both been to Rome, only not together, and he missed most of the important points.

In St Peter’s Basilica there are plaques in the floor showing how every cathedral in the world would fit inside it. St Paul’s in London is first, a few meters further in is the Cathedral in Wellington New Zealand. He didn’t see that. The cathedral his relative helped to build. 🙄

Two people or more will always see more. You call each other to ‘come and see this!’

Over thirty years later we’ve never been to Rome. Sigh. Florence is another place I want to see.

Then there’s Paris, need to go there again. Washington, New York, Seattle, actually, just America. Stockholm is amazing. Oslo is on the list. Love Switzerland, not been to Geneva.

Let’s make this easier, if it isn’t too hot there, I will be interested. If it’s too hot I’m still interested but not enthusiastic as I’ll spend all day lying on a bed under a fan, waiting for the flight home.

Cities are about how we got to where we are today. We can see the world of the past, we can build the present, and the future can see all the threads, all the changes, what mattered over time. They can made sense of us as we make sense of the past. Or not.

A vision of the future?

“Did they really spend ten hours a day in these awful office blocks, in front of a computer, not earning enough money to pay the bills, catch up with chores all weekend and repeat, and call that living? Thank goodness everything is automated nowadays and robots do all the chores!”

“Yes Ariel Washing Liquid, to think they were scared of automation. Let’s go out for a long breakfast-lunch-evening meal, see a film, and go to a party. Imagine having to get up at 8 am for work when we’re rarely home until 9 am. Love your name by the way!”

“Thank you, my parents saw it on a poster at a virtual museum and thought it was a lovely name.”

“Far better than a guy I know, Eco Toilet Cleaner has entirely the wrong vibe. I can’t imagine what you’d use it for can you?”

“I don’t know what cleaner means and what’s a poster?”

“I’m just glad I’ve got a really unusual name. Strictly Come Dancing the Results Are In. It’s very long though.”

“That it is but Glitter Ball is kind of twinkly, it’s a good nickname. Do you think they used a glitter ball for this cleaning thing?”

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
