Upsetting myself

What could you do less of?

This!

I’m taking a difficult step, but I’m leaving social media. I’m only on Facebook now, but the amount of vileness that Meta allows on social media makes me feel irresponsible if I continue to support it.

How can Meta restrict me for a post about world peace for three months with a year’s warning, ban and un-ban friends sharing non-harmful opinions, and yet let animal abuse, child abuse, and sexual grooming run rife? I know TikTok is worse. But I don’t get it. The messages I received last night were sexual in content and vile. From strangers.

What scares me more is that you’re not allowed to talk to them at all. Their team saw exactly what I meant about my post, describing it as beautiful, and they tried for two weeks but told me that the other team would not speak to them. Meta is a totalitarian state where the users have no rights.

This goes directly against democracy.

One line got me that ban:

Your Servant Elizabeth”, “I will bomb innocents in Ukraine. There’s really no comparison is there?”

The rest of the post was about peace and respect for all, including the Russian people.

For those outside the UK, our Monarch is our Head of State, and they are in service to their people. They sign everything to the people “Your Servant.” They’re not rulers. When I see how our politicians behave, lying and cheating, I’m profoundly grateful for the King, and his mother before him, his grandfather.

If you do as you’ve always done…

I’ve never wanted to hide from the news, but I’m struggling to comprehend and deal with the enormous and unbelievable leap backwards this world has taken. How anyone can bear it I do not know.

The shocking things about our societies that social media has revealed, is beyond disturbing. We think we’re better than politicians? As a whole we are far worse. Fiddling your expenses against giving child abusers and animal torturers ideas?

Like it or not a chunk of our societies is toxic, and the rest of us are too silent.

Going back to the saying above…

To protect your mental health is to protect your physical health. I want to choose wisely.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
