Floundering

Pretty

I think the face in that fish adequately describes how I feel at the moment. Sheer pigheaded determination is the thing that’s holding me up. The belief that I do have value.

Writing

Has always identified me, it’s where I find myself. Write then read it. There I am!

I am struggling with this blog though. I’ve always been random, because the muse I follow is random. However, it’s evolved into something I can’t put my finger on.

But then life is random. There are billions of people out there What do they need? Is it for me to decide? I’ve tested various things out, but there is no clear answer.

I’ve more or less concluded that you have to have a following to create a clear voice. I do have a following, not big but loyal, we think in the same way, but then I would say we’re all unique thinkers.

We embrace a life that literally billions wouldn’t, nothing weird unfortunately, we’d have so much fun with weird.

It’s about our belief that this life is part of a greater whole. That we existed before this incarnation and will continue to exist. As science pushes the boundaries they’re starting to agree with us. Something I never expected. We haven’t told them of course.

“Finally you’re catching up!” Doesn’t build good relationships.

Seriously, what they’re discovering is quite magical and elevates being human to a kind of magic that’s very real.

To précis: we’re animated by atoms, atoms cannot be destroyed, once atoms form a pattern it never breaks.

Hence accurate past life recall. Books on that subject are quite fascinating, and it’s worth remembering that no publisher will publish anything if it isn’t backed up with research.

I’ve said before that I had to get the Barry Manilow quote in my book correct down to the exact punctuation used in his book.

“If a comma is missed or out of place we can be sued.”

Scientists also have to have 30 peer reviews that support their work before they can even publish a paper.

Focus

I’ve always written about a different take on the human condition. I explore what it means ‘to be’.

However, I’m also fascinated by politics and the effect it has on our lives From a spiritual perspective it’s disempowering.

You could say they’re polar opposites and it’s not a wonder I’m confused, but life is holistic and politics are part of life.

Some people are so focused on their political beliefs that they’d vote for their party even if they wanted to call everyone Spock and tack on a numerical identifier.

Because the government is going to put everything right. Whereas spirituality says:

“How did I get here and what can I do differently?”

Coaches and counsellors also say that of course, but their answer is rarely, but can happen if they follow a spiritual path:

“Connect with your own soul and its lifetimes of wisdom, and see what it suggests.”

Spirituality is an infinite subject, best tailored personally by you. So how do you nail it down?

I’m going to start by culling my blogs. Then I’m going to find a title for the blog, rather than just my name.

A Sensibly-Spooky Life

Comes to mind, but spooky is a bit misleading. I’ll work on it.

It does sum up what we do, it’s the most sensible and practical way of life I’ve come across, it allows you to be you. In fact it encourages it in the truest sense of the term.

However, I’m breaking it down to:

Spiritual Living

Poetry

Just for a Laugh

That’s it.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx

  1. I like the idea of a spooky life! It’s more fun that way. Sometimes I think we’re all walking around in our own little reality bubble and that’s partly why people have such varying beliefs and experiences. 😁
