Depends on the Mood

What are your family’s top 3 favorite meals?

Meet the family

Yep the main foods eaten in our house are cat related. But as many a cat parent will tell you, they are hard creatures to please, they can also do the guilt look to perfection.

“Yes I know I struggle to get through the cat flap but I have big bones, and I’m literally wasting away here and it’s your fault for buying bilge!”

Then they will go and eat the bilge while you address your mental health issues.

The other game is:

“No not that. Definitely not that. Are you freaking kidding me? That’s just insulting.”

Then they will go to the first bowl of unmitigated crap and clear it.”

Yes we’re not crazy

We just love them and cats are like children, they can play you like a violin. They bring us much more than the odd food battle of wills. It’s nice to have something more important than you when you don’t have children.

In fact it’s important. It keeps you human. You can never mutter “People and their wretched kids, why do they keep fussing?”

You know, and you know that if you love your pets as much as you do, then the love they have for their children must be off the charts.

I’ll leave you with the immortal words of my mother.

“You dad comes first, then you two, then the dog. But sometimes I prefer the dog to the lot of you.”

I understood.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
