The Prophet Amos

If you could meet a historical figure, who would it be and why?

There are actually two people I would love to meet, the other one being the Emperor Marcus Aurelius.

This is an AI creation of what Marcus Aurelius could have looked like, some sort of post Italian cowboy looks a bit odd, but looking at the statue the appearance seems rather accurate.

Amos

Is my spirit guide, think best friend literally forever with attitude. When I read about him after someone asked if he was the Prophet Amos, in answer to which he just shrugged and said “only in one lifetime”, I was stunned at how close the character was to the incredible being I know.

Nothing fancy, no showing off, capable of creating miracles and encouraging you by showing you life’s magic. Not above frowning and asking how many times I’m going to ask the same question, incredibly giving and created by God to empower. Through me many people are grateful for him, and many have their own guides now.

He’s just awarded me another frown and said “due to us as a team, without you I couldn’t reach out into your world.”

That’s the important message of him, he is strong enough not to need to take all the credit, and loving enough to want to build up everyone he can. He empowers people to like, respect, and trust themselves.

We should all be like Amos, and I’m proud to help him. He’s helped me to develop my work into a dream come true. He’s helped me live the commitment I made when I was so alone I didn’t think I could go on:

That I would find a way to help others who had been made to feel worthless, useless, and pointless. No one would ever be alone if they had me on their side.

Marcus Aurelius

His words are still in print. “Your life is what your thoughts make it!” Has always stayed with me and l watch my thoughts as a result.

Another favourite saying is “Thoughts become things: choose the good ones.” Mike Dooley.

After the few days I’ve had I’ve really needed to repeat these things to remind myself.

It always helps.

What do you hang on to that’s helped you in life?

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
