The Hidden Girl

What book are you reading right now?

By Lucinda Riley. My favourite of hers was The Love Letter. I also loved the Seven Sisters series. Each book was set in a different place in the world and she evoked each place so effectively you felt you were there.

She sadly left this world before she finished the final book, and we were so lucky that her son, Harry Whittaker, also a writer, took it on and finished it.

Of course some said it wasn’t perfect and it wasn’t quite, could have been cut a little, but where was the gratitude that this man, in the midst of the grief of losing his mother, sat down and did this for her and for us? I was extremely grateful and aware of the emotional cost.

He’s now digging out some of her other unpublished work and bringing it to us, without his name on the cover, to honour her and her work. He’s doing an excellent job.

It’s enhanced this book for me, I’m not just reading a book, I’m grateful to be reading more of her work, and supporting a son keeping his mum alive in his heart. He’s a writer himself, to do this is a labour of love. It’s great to be a part of it.

That’s writing though isn’t it, a window on another world. I’ve read so many blogs on WordPress, many in excellent English bless you, where I’ve seen into a world I can never know. It enhances knowledge and connection.

These unknown potential friends using their unique talent show how much we have in common. How similarly we struggle, where we enjoy and value the same things. I hope my blog adds to that. But…

Bless you for your talent.

You’ve enhanced my life.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
