Clarence: Stateside

Well, well, well. Not such a close contest after all.

I’m trying to think of one sensible thing to say that doesn’t include “excuse me what?!” Oddly I’m not as alarmed as I thought I would be, in some ways a rebel suits America’s personality. I’m sure that millions would disagree though.

He’s one of those guys that you can’t get a handle on, he is completely screwed up and yet hit the ground running last time, getting things done. He’s a convicted felon who could not be in the UK Parliament, and who could go to prison when his term ends and the other charges kick back in. It’s surreal, yet you look at him and think “yeah that’s Trump, no rules apply.”

We shall see. He did at least try to build strong links with North Korea last time, which may have led to them not putting troops into Ukraine. Looking back you can’t help thinking it’s a pity he didn’t succeed in that.

He managed to get the two Korean leaders within feet of each other, and the South Korean leader invited to put foot in North Korea, one step over the 38th Parallel. If he’d stayed in power…?

It would be easy to hide under a rock right now, but there are always questions to be asked. Very few people are entirely bad or good, and this is one of the most confusing of all people. He’s definitely something and you can’t ignore him.

Badenoch

Erm…

When she stood for leader last time I quite liked the way she spoke, felt it was a shame she didn’t get through. This time she went hard right, attacking maternity pay in a way that might make the life of a woman come down to baby or career but not both. If you can’t pay the bills without a second wage how can a couple have a baby if they can’t afford to live from late in the pregnancy until it’s at least old enough for nursery? Or do you have the baby in your fortnight off, and give it someone else to look after two weeks later?

The thing with Badenoch is we don’t know who she really is, the reasonable person of last time, the hard right threat of this time, or just what it needed to be elected and we will never be able to get a handle on him…I mean her…Okay I mean both of them.

I think my job may have become more interesting all round. Especially as there’s a great tree outside the Whitehouse and all the guards know me, they’re the only actual fan club I have. I didn’t say much about Biden as it was a bit nothing during his term, apart from falling over (and it would have been cruel to make fun of that, there but for the grace of God etc.,) and towards the end it was just sad. I’m glad the guy gets to rest now.

All change

So Trump rules everything. Badenoch is trying to give the Conservatives the kiss of life, figuratively speaking, Starmer has plunged his government into unpopularity in record time, his chancellor has made changes that weren’t in their manifesto, and frankly Trump is going to be more fun.

Ed Davey is quietly plugging away though asking some good questions and demanding answers. The rest of the Conservative top team have retreated to the back benches.

My son moved his family down to the South Coast to prevent me influencing my grandson, who is currently sitting in my lounge eating his tea very quietly. I have explained to him that I can’t give him asylum, I won’t give him the money to go to Peru (methinks there’s another Paddington film coming up), and that he can’t go back to Buckingham Palace and ask the King to save him.

Yesterday he was discovered at Buckingham Palace, hiding behind a statue having joined a tour and then run off. Apparently he asked one of the King’s aides to get him to sign a Royal Walnut to make his father bring him back to London, so that he can go to his old school with his old friends.

The aide really upset him when he said that perhaps his new school would teach him better spelling as it was a warrant. My grandson said no it was just a school. This led to the Aide thinking that he could reason with my grandson, sonny being removed from the Palace still shrieking to the King for help, and the Aide having a minor nervous collapse.

They did however bring him to me because he said point blank he’d be out of the “s*it hole” on the coast as soon as he got a window of opportunity, which by the way he could spell and why was a Royal Decree called a Warrant and so was the thing the Police got to arrest you. He got home to me feeling he’d dodged some kind of bullet he couldn’t make head or tail of.

I’m so hoping they’re not going to give him to me to bring up, because I did a lousy job with his father and this is the result. Actually the kid is someone I’m quite proud of (for that read stupidly proud of), he knows his own mind and goes for what he wants, he’s just ten years too young to start being quite so incredible. Poor lad.

Oh Lord, got to go, they’re at the door. I’m trying to persuade him to shimmy down the tree, climb in the back of their car, and swear blind he’s been there all the time and they’re clearly delusional. He said great, but he’s going to tell them that makes them unfit to bring him up.

I cannot win…

Yours Clarence

Soon to be deafened by all the shouting. Although…oh f…the little bugger’s gone!

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
