Love of Learning

Which topics would you like to be more informed about?

I love learning new things but some things I really want to understand are:

  • Why certain men start wars.
  • Why couples have children and then one walks away and lets them down, often the man., and not always without reason.
  • Why politicians constantly lie.
  • Why we vote for them.
  • Why we’re stuck in the political rut of either/or rather than ‘someone new, let’s give them a chance!’
  • Why we even think someone else’s gender is our business?
  • Why we think skin colour means difference, it doesn’t. It’s sun protection that stops our insides falling out.
  • Why we back various sides in wars and supply weapons rather than flatly refusing to help them kill each other. The entire international community should pressure for peace in one voice, to stop children being killed and maimed. Apply blanket, crippling, sanctions immediately.
  • Why we’re international, self sufficiency and a quiet life seems far more important to me, for all. Connections should be through travel and experiences.
  • Why it’s okay to kill children? Any children? Anywhere? It’s not okay to kill any innocent for any reason, but children are the most defenceless. However, they react, Israel has recruited goodness knows how many terrorists and I don’t blame those kids, anger is all they have.
  • Why the focus on ‘the West’. We’re not doing that well. We don’t feel superior. We are not our governments or business leaders. We are billions of innocents just wanting to be happy. With a few morons we’re deeply ashamed of.
  • Why women are constantly used as weapons of war. Raped. Abused. We’re discovering more and more that modern progress doesn’t apply to rapists and abusers. Civilisation is a veneer with enormous cracks.
  • Why we have religion. It’s been so misused so often, and it’s never there actively, noisily, determinedly, passionately trying to stop wars. Those who revere Jesus should remember that he was not passive. If it was wrong he called it out, and he took active action. Religious leaders are not politicians they’re the voice of God. You know the ‘thou shalt not kill’ one.
  • Why we can’t be kind. Unkindness is vile. Yet social media had been the most awful shock in one way, we’re seeing how many screwed up people there are in our society. Outnumbered by the decent, yes, but still too many.
  • Why riots and violence are an appropriate reaction to anything.
  • Why we can’t put our various societies right. There is so much wrong right here in the UK yet there is no effort to strip out red tape, simplify systems, and get help to where it’s needed fast. If you knew anyone on benefits you’d know how utterly ridiculous it is. A life changing injury and you have to fill in forms every year? Be assessed in person? All that is needed is an enquiry “Has your condition worsened in the last 12 months!”
  • Why we abandon and abuse animals.
  • I could go on, but the main question is – can anyone explain to me why humanity is the way it is? Because I just don’t get it.
  • Or why the billions of truly good are so silent?

Speak out if you don’t understand either, teach your kids. Let’s just do whatever we can.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
