Clarence: Lies and Statistics

So the pensioners are going to get a rise of double the winter fuel allowance? But aren’t they subject to inflation the same as anyone else?

If the price of fuel goes up again, what with all the wars and so on, will just over £8 a week save them?

My favourite biscuits have just gone up 25p. I know they’re not an essential, but it’s a small example of a 25% rise in price. It’s back to starve or freeze. At least thousands of them are now applying for pension credit, so more may be safe, if they get it.

Perhaps this is why older people tend to eat less and less as they get older. God knew what we were going to do with our societies and future proofed them. Wonder if the next generation are being born with in-built heating systems?

I’d say ‘and the ability to live on fresh air’ but that’s not really very good for you the world over.

Starmer says he owes the working people stability. They went to school because of the working people before them, the pensioners. At least they know what they have coming.

In other news

Harrods is selling peaches from Japan’s Fukushima region to help build confidence that the products are safe to eat after the nuclear disaster in 2011. £80 for three! Boy nuclear cleansing is expensive. I’m sure they are safe, but apparently the elite are the test group.

Apple have been told to pay Ireland £18bn in tax by the EU, not so much the bad guys then? Taking care of their own. Which doesn’t include Turkey; to remind you that the Garage and Prime Minister Pinocchio were probably definitely lying.

Rose-Ayling Ellis hated dancing with Giovanni Pernice according to the headline. No wait, she was worried about the dance with the silent section in case it was seen as going after the pity vote. Almost the same thing depending on how much you want to keep shoving the knife in. I wonder how many people read past the headline? Or why Google are allowed to have a newsfeed stacked with misleading rubbish, non-news?

So Starmer got the vote through as all the Labour MPs who hadn’t had the whip suspended voted with the government. Obviously it’s all the other lot’s fault, but then at least they didn’t do this.

Apart from that

Mildred has offered to help restore Pernice’s reputation, and he has taken a job on the Italian version of Dancing with the Stars. He was seen getting on a plane shaking violently. Are the two related I wonder?

Some polls say Trump, some say Harris, we will find out soon enough. First debate tonight. Politics or rhetoric, the vote is America’s. Mildred also offered to coach Harris, she’s been blocked. Trump called her, he’s been blocked.

Mel Stride is out of the Tory Leadership campaign. Two down, four left. Going to be interesting.

Apparently Emily Matis says that Prince Andrew lost the respect of the public after his interview aired. I was shocked to the core by this startling revelation. Is that why they boo him? Didn’t want to see him at his father’s memorial service, and even questioned his right to be there? Heavens above.

In one way I feel sorry for him, he did try to come out and speak to the public who quite rightly had questions, he didn’t sit behind royal privilege. Unfortunately he must be the world’s worst communicator, that or he was taken aback by being asked straight questions rather than obsequious ones. Is he guilty? Here’s the truth, who knows. He’s certainly been tried and condemned no matter what.

Since when did media driven public opinion replace the rule of law? The media are the worst barristers and the public the worst jury in the world. Unless you might say that it’s actually the media who make themselves both judge and jury, then blame the maybe-guilty victim and the public for it. But then why would anyone think that? And why would free thinkers believe they’re being manipulated?

At least the media get their comeuppance now, no one is safe!

I asked Milders if she wanted to ride to his rescue and really make a name for herself, she simply said that she’d seen him on a horse, so no. I wasn’t sure what to make of it and she wasn’t explaining. There’s a rumour that she’s close to the royals, but I can’t get a word out of her.

She said it was because I was press, I replied that she was a lawyer whose methodology was questionable in the extreme. She said that the two things were quite different as one was based on stirring up trouble, and the other on protection of the innocent. I said that we protected the innocent, she replied only once you’ve put them in the spotlight with a target on their back. I said she should be more polite as I target politicians, she said fair enough. I also pointed out that she’s a master of stirring up trouble, she proudly agreed, and still slammed the door when she walked out.

I’m not sure who won.

Judges have had nervous breakdowns trying to make sense of the evidence in trials she’s involved in. So I think it was a fair point.

Kids

My grandson is being very well behaved at the moment, which worries me immensely. He has sweetly apologised to everyone for his recent behaviour and hasn’t put a toe out of line for at least a week. I don’t trust this at all.

He accompanied me to a tree-watch one evening last week, with permission, which is unbelievable. He sat quietly for 2 hours, listening and watching intently, then turned to me and said “you do this for a living, and people pay you?” I said yes. He gave me a thoughtful look, climbed down the tree, and wandered off with his hands in his pockets clearly pondering.

We shall see

P.S. Oh Lord. He’s joined the school newspaper team, fired the editor on the grounds that he is one of a long line of top press investigators, hired all young ladies to redress the gender balance, and started with an expose about the head teacher of another local school. Strangely they’re arch football rivals, my grandson plays, and there’s a game next week. I’m off to give him a quick course in media ethics. Don’t laugh, it doesn’t’ help!

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
