Tell us about the last thing you got excited about.

This is pretty much what happened.
I’d been struggling with social media for a while. Left everything but Facebook.
The sheer overwhelm, too much information on speed, a lot of it questionable, too much of it unkind.
If you’re thinking it’s not that much that’s negative, remember the iceberg rule, what you’re not seeing below the surface. The recent UK riots were generated by social media and far right groups.
Far right/far left are too sure of what they believe in. The centre ground is where the magic happens, where all beliefs can be considered and consensus is reached.
So there I am, with a page where people who’ve been with me for years don’t see my posts. Where I get 11 hits and no engagement out of 750 members actually signed up. I wanted to give up, but I could never give up on them.
Pure Joy
I never post anything rude, insulting, offensive, or about others to take them apart. I occasionally question thinking. Using something to suggest an alternative. Yet I’ve been on a 12 month warning for a post on world peace, and had an advert banned because you could see the top 6” of my chest. I mean down from my chin to nowhere near embarrassing. I’m not that kind of girl. It was a selfie of me showing off my cat.
I realised that like many people I was overthinking and hesitating to post because I didn’t really know what would get me banned again.
So I started a private group. Took away all the pressure of having thousands of followers, and I feel safe to go back to being me.
I’m full of energy, posting regularly, able to share ideas. And having tremendous fun.
Hope you are too.
Fun Friday – these should all be lovely blogs to read.

Thank you for posting about peace. We need more of that.

Bless you. I believe in it. Have you ever read the saying “I’m not a liberal snowflake?” It really calls to my heart.
