What is a word you feel that too many people use?

“It’s like” makes me want to scream every time I hear it…

Don’t tell me what it’s like tell me what it is!”

“It’s like that truck is going to hit us mum.”

“So is a truck really going to hit us or is it as if a truck is going to hit us?”

Sound of loud crash.

“It’s like, I find that very upsetting.”

“So you’re not upset then?

“It’s like I am.”

“Then not?”

“It’s like you’re trying to confuse me!”

“I actually am trying to confuse you to help you to find clarity.”

“Why would I, like, need clarity?”

Nope it is or it isn’t. You like it or you don’t. You feel it or you don’t feel it. If you can’t state that clearly no one will ever understand you.

I like that kind of clarity 🤣

The other word that is used too often in our society is hate. I heard someone say yesterday that they hate someone they’ve never met.

I do not hate Nigel Farage, I’ve never met him, but I don’t like the way he’s behaved. Coming back to a party he started, bumping its leader who has been doing all the work, by making him President. Declaring himself a prospective parliamentary candidate. Winning and becoming a party leader.

In any other party that has to be done through a proper selection process. I don’t want a power grabber in power, I want a democratically elected person subject to the proper processes and controls. Not someone who appears to think he can circumnavigate all that. I don’t like that behaviour at all.

Used properly like is a likeable word. Hate never is. Emotionally we need clarity in life, to make the right decisions we need to know what we like.

If it’s like you think you’d like that, then it’s better to work out if you would like it, or not.

🙄

Thrilling Tuesday

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
