Clarence: Eventful Non-Events

Well cherubs, there were going to be more violent marches, windows were boarded up, police were deployed, nothing. Apparently there are certain fingerprints all over this misinformation.

However, something did happen, we discovered that democracy and humanity were alive and well and living in the UK.

Inclusive, caring people marched in their thousands, placing themselves in front of refugee hostels to act as a barrier. Saying no to racism and violence of all kinds. People of all colours who are British, among them people whose family history here goes back over 150 years even though they’re blessed with a richer complexion. All walking together, hugging, talking, saying no.

It made me proud to be British, and grateful that so many wonderful people feel strongly about this.

Political news

Is very quiet at the moment. Parliament is recessed for the summer, one wonders why at a time like this, although Sir Keir has acted swiftly and decisively. Here’s hoping that they will debate this matter properly and come up with some solutions.

It’s not racist to say that our systems can’t cope and we maybe need to give immigration some very serious thought. It’s just sensible.

The new Chancellor is in trouble having clobbered pensioners once by taking away the fuel allowance, some people now receive £2 a week too much to receive it, so expect huge NHS bills treating hypothermia this winter. £8-10 a month surely won’t pay for a day’s heating.

There are also mumblings about tax rises, would imagine they will hit the higher earners, some of whom are rapidly becoming lower earners, and only the very rich may be able to encompass it.

They tend to shop in exclusive stores, the ones that keep the high street going are the middle class, clobber them too hard, they stop spending, shops go down, jobs are lost. Yet the cheap on-line shops will probably continue to do very well. We will be buying from places not benefitting this country. Adding to someone else’s economy.

We really need to think this through, cheap for us could be very costly for the country.

Nothing more thrilling at the moment on the political front.

Strictly unbelievable

Unless you consider the havoc surrounding the happiest show on Earth, or whatever. Which apparently has been an illusion covering up abuse, insults, spitting, kicking, tantrums, and maybe more.

Not sure the sequins are going to fool anyone this year. Oddly it’s the BBC again. Why is that? Why is the nation’s ‘favourite’ broadcaster so given to screwing up in any number of ways? By that I mean pretending that everything is okay when really they’re skating on a thin layer of chaos and misery.

Savile, if ever a name was spelt correctly it’s that one. Harris, the children’s favourite. Bashir, the man who artfully created the news. Would Diana have had a police driver that night in Paris were it not for him? Obviously no one can answer that question, but it is a valid one.

Yet there’s been no suggestion of him being taken to court to explain himself. Haven’t heard that he’s been sacked. Surely faking information to get an interview that destroyed a family and may have seriously affected the life of two young teenagers, deserves more than sweeping under the carpet?

Now we have a respected newsreader, who announced the death of the late Queen, and turns out to be interested in some highly unsavoury things. How the heck does one channel manage this and still take our licence money. I personally find paying them offensive now.

So not funny

I’ve been avoiding writing because there’s nothing worth writing about, even my grandson is on holiday, and apart from apparently trying to drown his younger brother because he didn’t realise that to teach people deep sea diving they need equipment to help them breathe. He now knows that holding your brother under the water to help him expand his lungs and hold oxygen does not work. Nor do his parents nerves at the moment, they’re shot.

Fortunately no harm was done except for a broken nose, where the younger brother wriggled free, shot out of the water like a cork, and headbutted him in the nose.

This time I can’t get the blame because I wasn’t invited. I never knew being so unpopular could be so much fun.

Until something safe enough to laugh at happens, I’ll do my best to be vaguely interesting even if I have to keep bribing my grandson.

Yours Clarence

P.S. I meant bribe my grandson. I didn’t bribe him this time. I may have asked for a funny story but I didn’t mention drowning. I must be clearer in future. I want a funny story where no one and nothing in any way gets hurt or damaged. People just need to laugh! Not start messaging me asking how your brother is and whether you got the telling off you deserved. The answer to which is no as no one has seen you since.

P.P.S. Except me that is. Fortunately having promised not to let his parents know that he somehow hitchhiked home, I did let them know, and to my deep joy (reading between the lines is necessary here) they said I could keep him for a while. Apparently until they’ve moved to another country, as they feel I’m responsible for turning him into a rebel and should take the blame, and return him to them as a reasonable human being. In the meantime he thinks he’s got one over on them. they’ve got one over on me, and I’m wondering exactly what they meant by reasonable and how much wiggle room there is? Surely if you can provide a reasonable explanation for your behaviour that’s enough isn’t it?

Creative blame pushing here we come.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
