Okay, Labour and I are done. Optimism is out the window. I’m not that far from retirement, don’t have a great pension, I’m not one of the glossy journalists, I’m forced to pay a state pension, and now I will be forced to live in a state of poverty and freeze to death during the first winter.
That’s hope and optimism dead and buried inside three weeks! I’ll give them one thing, they promised to work fast and they are.
Oh, and green is the new grey. Straight out the gate, millions of homes on the green belt. Not a shade of grey in sight. Perhaps they meant they’re going to use grey bricks? That will at least make a change.
Do all politicians have memory issues? Or are they stupid enough to think we’re stupid? I guess we do vote for them instead of screaming “you have to be kidding, that’s like putting your finger in a fire, finding it hurts, and doing it again! We’re down to the bone guys!”
Saw a lovely comment yesterday when an outraged Jeremy Hunt was called a liar (way to do politics differently Ms Reeves, epic fail) that finally the real leader of the Conservatives has stood up. Sad he’s not standing with his experience.
Just remember that if interest rates drop shortly, he did it.
Five more years of this! Just keep playing the game and pretend we believe them. If they keep this spending up they’ll be praying for a black hole as small as we have now.
That of course was largely caused by Covid and exacerbated by the Ukraine war, but let’s just forget all the help we had. I wonder if other countries received that level of support?
Now the pensioners are going to freeze to death it might make us reflect. Unless you want to consider them a drain on the economy they provided. Remember who sent you to school!
Hey ho.
As to the NHS, they’ve been failing spectacularly for decades, partly due to shocking systems. It’s not all the government’s fault. They’re over burdened with managers and nearly everyone needs a degree with degree level pay.
It’s a caring profession. You need a whole different set of wildly important skills. And they need help. But paying more for failure just makes no sense. I want to know what improvements they’re going to deliver and when before they get paid more!
I can’t ignore this
I’m part political commentary, part humour, trying to lighten the load of politics. But I cannot ignore Southport.
However, this is for Deb to write about and has no place in a part comic blog. Except to say:
