Immensely Long Read?

What would you change about modern society?

A line from Frasier quantifies this “You start and I’ll jump in when you get hoarse”.

I’m not going to make this a long read because our society in the UK is so broken the problems are huge. I see the same throughout the world.

It requires a top to bottom reset and an immense change in attitude.

The thing that creates society is humanity. We dictate whether other humans and animals survive, and how long it will take the planet to recover from us and our immensely selfish behaviour.

We dictate whether others are happy or sad, safe or threatened, respected or used. Live a normal life or a hellish life, die through crime, or pass through natural causes.

As such the thing I would change about humanity is attitude. From fear to the courage to be loving and respectful.

Unfortunately there aren’t that many truly brave people who recognise our shared humanity, and that perceived differences only exist to test the shape of our own heart and soul. To reveal who we are.

If you don’t wonder why anyone has to be asked to be inclusive. If you don’t see every living thing as equally as important as yourself. If you will walk over anyone to win. If you will hoard millions and billions while people starve. If you’re a troll. If violence is okay with you. If killing makes sense. You are part of the problem and the reason future children may never know peace, wellbeing, and happiness.

Find some true courage now, and become the solution not the problem. No one wins in a disintegrating society or a world where a third total war is actually considered to be a potential. Total war this time. One year for the planet to be wiped clean of everything but scorpions.

We’re that stupid and we need to change – now.

I believe it can be done if decent people start saying no and meaning it. If we call for decency at every level, and call out even the smallest slight or unkindness. Zero tolerance. If we be what we want to see and if we’re fierce and fearless about it.

Let’s start with social media! Polite but firm. Block the trolls until they have no one to talk to. Stand up for fairness, honour, trial by court not media, wording opinions powerfully but respectfully. Indoors let’s start with the children. Don’t leave the schools to it, you set the standards.

We exist in far more immense numbers, let’s get loud and proud.

Literally everything suffers if we don’t.

Mulling Monday

Let’s turn this over in our minds then do what we can 💖

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
