So the England team lost their second final in a row, they and their manager also set a record, they are our most successful team since 1966. It’s been 28 years since we got to a semi final, and they’ve done it twice in two years.
Yet the haters have found a focus for hate, the perfectionists have a target, and a group of men up there alone, with millions watching, now have to take a hammering, and maybe lose the manager that clearly adores them, who has got them farther than any other manager since 1966. But then who wants to give credit where it’s due when you can destroy someone instead?
What a wonderful world it is.
I’ll take a moment to mop up my sarcasm.
Took a while
And my mop is trashed.
In other news someone tried to shoot Trump, and he has defied all belief by taking it in a Presidential way. Maybe he had to get shot to see what whipping up anger does? If so I’m glad he was alright.
Biden did the right thing by putting in a personal call, and Trump responded respectfully. If only they could keep this up and focus on the issues.
What a wonderful world it could be.
Truss going over to support him is also a good thing, it will be unlikely that anyone in the UK will ever vote for her again. Even if they would after Truss-Crashenomics. Result!
Trump now has a running mate who hated him, which either means he’s wise enough to put someone on the ticket to challenge him, or power is the most effective relationship healer.
However, it’s a good thing that he’s chosen a younger person with insight into the issues of the younger generations
I’m quite scared about all these positive feelings, but of course they will need backing up with actions.
Hang on I need a lie down!
Took a while
It was news yesterday that two bovines chose a visit from the King and Queen to decide on a public romantic encounter. The press referred to them as two cows, clearly copulating for the purposes of having babies isn’t their strong point. But then they were probably too busy learning sarcasm and story manipulation at press school, as I did. Usual old bull.
Starmer continues to warm the world up nicely, I await more vitriol to gather together interesting stories.
I am puzzled by the term greyfield land, have you ever seen a grey field? Okay it’s an acknowledgment that there used to be more nature and less concrete, but why not call it industrial redevelopment site?
If you’re going to rearrange English at least make it accurate and funny.
“We intend to build in grotty, derelict, industrial failure areas, and we promise to remove all chemical pollution when we do. Probably.”
“P.S. Please don’t plant your plants too deep though just in case, and don’t plant any vegetables for 25 years.”
Apart from that
I didn’t know it was possible to be divorced so fast. I am going to miss my shed though.
I should probably do the Strictly thing and admit that I may have been a touch too interested in my work, and the wife does have a very fair point, or a hundred.
Her solicitor kindly wrote in the letter that she eventually asked my wife to stop listing my failings as she had writers’ cramp. That was after her keyboard overheated.
She also asked if I’d like anything upsetting removed, which I appreciated. I asked her to remove two Oxford Commas, as personally I don’t see the need for them unless the last item at the end of a list is somewhat different.
For example “My dad gave me a new football, boots, gloves, and a severe telling of for forgetting to say thank you.”
Sort of like that but not quite. The hundred complaints were all very fair. I wish we’d started talking about these things about ten years in, because although I admit to being out of love, I do have the greatest liking and respect for her.
Always talk, it’s surprisingly helpful. And listen, that’s even more helpful.
Never be afraid to be wrong if you want love to last.
Good Lord! That’s quite inspirational! I may have another career up my sleeve
“Inspiration from an idiot who forget to learn the easy way.” That has quite a ring to it don’t you think?
Anyhow, knackered and in need of b…tea now. I’m turning over a new leaf which is why I didn’t say that my dad smacked me round the head for forgetting to apologise. I wanted to be more politically correct*.
Clarence the free man
Anything is possible
Any idea what I’d like to do I feel a bit unmoored at the moment?
P.S. *Oops!
P.P.S. Gareth Southgate has resigned, bugger. He’s the kind of decent man you need on television and in football. He took full responsibility and protected his team. Hope we see a lot more of him. He certainty won’t do a Lineker and trash the people that come after him. Ooh…Now there’s an idea for a role for him. Lineker can always go back to selling unhealthy junk food.
