Lots

What bothers you and why?

Random things bother me, the latest being attitudes towards England’s defeat in the Euros. We were runners up for the second time for goodness sake, yet people have to rip into them, and are astray talking about getting rid of our most successful manager for years.

It bothers me as building a team takes time. Eleven players didn’t turn up on Sir Alf Ramsay’s doorstep and he decided they’d do. They were an experienced team.

Our top clubs won’t allow the England Manager the time that he needs to hone the team; how is that fair? Why can’t they give a little more to their country? It’s good for football.

I could go on about a lot: the state of the world; the trolling; knife crime; and on and on, as you all well know. But what’s the point?

So I’ll end with one thing in particular that might provide a solution, and that really does bother me. Why decent, kind people don’t get more respect in this world, and why everyone doesn’t dream of being just like them?

That would put a stop to all nastiness and crime, and build a world where people seek to empower and encourage.

The better way

So England Team, you did well (The King says so), we were proud of you. Do you need a touch more experience? Yes, but two finals in two years? That’s mega. It’s not as if you were beaten 5/1, you held them off with some brilliant defending One of the best teams in the world beat you by one late goal, and you created three favourable chances straight afterwards. I can never unsee those three headers and the speed of them. Stoic doesn’t describe you. No hanging heads, straight back at ‘em.

Take what you learned, you have two years to hone your game, with I hope the manger who clearly thinks the world of you by your side. He deserves to be there. Then you can have a go at the world. No pressure. Good is good enough, 1966 is respected, but a thing of the past in a vastly different time. This is now and you own it.

They’ll never read this, but we need more of this kind of talk.

No one thrives when you’ve got a hand on their head trying to drown them in crap.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
