I’m back from Paris via Poland. She hasn’t burned the shed down so I still have a roof over my head. No one is talking to me. It’s peaceful.
The country of course has switched sides and now the doom and gloom brigade are predicting Armageddon. As opposed to the other doom and gloom brigade predicting the same. Politics must be the only job where you don’t even get an hour to prove your worth.
The England football team were uninterestingly interesting last night. Playing nicely together, might have been nice if they’d played with Switzerland, but at least if you pass the ball between you they don’t get a chance to score. Maybe this is a new technique. If it is it’s very dull.
What has been interesting is that normally England football teams crumble under pressure, this team seem to create the pressure by doing sod all, then thrive on it. Have you ever seen 5 calmer, more centred and focused young men in your life? Hats off to them.
What the future holds?
I will of course keep up my running commentary on politics, although I am concerned as so far Sir Keir is making a great deal of sense, which is hard to laugh at.
The Conservative far right being spiteful now are of course guaranteed to put most of the country off them permanently. Hopefully they’ll get a moderate leader who brings people together. Although the knives would be out for them immediately.
Who wants to be led by a party that can’t learn?
I’m going to keep up with the England team, see how the Biden Trump debacle turns out, and find things we can all laugh at together.
Apart from that I may look at the delight that people on social media take in being negative, and the impact of the public on politics. Really depends what takes my fancy.
