Sedona Arizona

Describe your most memorable vacation.

Cathedral Rock Vortex

I went with a friend. My husband stayed at home with the cats. I’d never been able to go on holiday and relax before. It was amazing.

What was also amazing was how empowered I was. Guiding a highly experienced traveller through the airport as she lost all sense of direction the moment she went through the door. No fear nor concerns about what might go wrong. Loved the flights. As long as the air behaves flying is a joy.

30,000 feet above the angst of earth energy. What’s not to love?

Mind blowing

The scenery in Sedona defies description. There is a rock the shape of a coffee pot, and an armchair. All carved out by the sea millennia ago.

It’s only two hours from the Grand Canyon and we went there too. Mind blowing.

It’s a stunning place in an amazing country, minus the politics. The American continent literally has it all.

What matters

I could go on and on describing that trip. But what matters is that it’s something everyone should try to do at least once in their life. Go on a carefree holiday.

Be yourself without any external pressures.

A person who suffered from severe acute anxiety was completely relaxed and at peace in Sedona, as she was when with her husband in Florida. That tells me that much as I love the UK, it’s not my soul home.

I woke up early there. I never do that! Dragging myself out of bed is an art form. Maybe the American time zone is right for me?

This is not critical of my beautiful country, quieter in its impact but still stunning, especially Scotland and Wales.

It’s a comment about recognising what you feel and taking those feelings seriously. It’s about understanding yourself without judgement. Being prepared at all stages of your life to learn more about yourself and act on it if possible.

We can’t emigrate, we wouldn’t put our cats through that. But knowing your energy is better somewhere else tells you that you can feel better. You can feel energised and alive. You can relax. That’s important information.

If you meditate, you can always take yourself somewhere like that and go for a walk. Sit on a rock in the sun, reminder with every fibre of your being how it feels to be there. The mind and body will believe it if you really focus strongly. It will work to raise your vibes.

Sedona was my most memorable vacation because like Italy before it and Florida after it, it told me that the anxiety driven me wasn’t real. I was way out of my comfort zone each time, and the better for it.

Fantastic Friday

P.S. Clarence will no doubt pop up when he remembers where he is. Yes we know, no we’re not telling him. This is a good one though. 🤣😱🙄😉🤣

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
