Positive Support from Clarence

Clarence, your sanity in uncertain times, here.

Writing about politics is hugely negative, and I’ve decided to do something positive to get you through tomorrow night’s debate:

A positive list of things you can do instead:

  • Cut your toenails. It will be more thrilling.
  • Watch ‘Eric’ on Netflix. It’s rather good.
  • Bake a cake and stab it repeatedly with a knife. That way you won’t hurt yourself trying to strangle the T.V.
  • Watch ‘House of Cards’. Now that IS vicious politics but the dialogue and acting are much better and far more convincing. I actually believe that guy has a plan.
  • Go teetotal. You’ll have more chance of ending the programme feeling healthy. No point starting if you’re going to spend all night throwing up, and then forget it. You may as well know what got you into that state.
  • If you have Apple TV ‘Sugar’ is beautifully acted and has a rather surprising twist at the end.
  • Wrap your TV in plastic, seal it against the weather, take it to the bottom of the garden, lock yourself in, give the back door key to your neighbours and tell them to return it to you tomorrow morning. If someone arrives on your doorstep in the morning, sobbing pitifully, wailing that there’s no hope and we’re all screwed, it will be your neighbour. You will have to listen out for them as pressing the doorbell may be beyond them. Having a soothing cup of tea ready would be a real kindness. Please check age and for allergies before you offer them tranquillisers though. But tea should be all the magic they need.
  • Try ‘The Morning Show’ on Apple. Lots of intrigue, lots of emotion, stunningly acted, brilliantly written. Jennifer Anniston is a pure revelation.
  • Emigrate. There are Islands in this world that have never seen a TV or heard the words “Let me be completely clear”. Come back in a couple of years time tanned, sporting a magnificent, and eco friendly grass skirt, and more importantly sane, and tell everyone about the great weather, endless beaches, bath-warm sea, that you’ve lost two stone eating fish and fruit, and love the natural way of life. In other words gloat!

Hope that helps

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
