What jobs have you had?

Except for one. But I’ve told this story before.
Girl. Not worth educating. Would get married, have babies, someone else can keep her, not worth the investment.
Apparently saying repeatedly from age 2 that I would never have children didn’t reach the right ears as truth.
Oddly, I couldn’t have children, so with my current spiritual explorations I’m wondering exactly what I already knew age 2.
As such, my life has been ruled by my husband’s jobs, through no fault of their own. They’ve both been more than generous and understanding.
The one job I loved was where who I am, my ability to empathise with others, came into play. Neurorehabilitation is one of the hardest, most wonderful, heartbreaking, awesome areas to work in.
The courage and determination of the staff, their very real tears because they put their hearts and souls into what they do, they fight for every inch of that person. The patients trying so hard. The highs are like nothing you can ever imagine, and so are the lows.
I could calm and help the families a lot of the time and it was one of the greatest privileges of my life. I could sometimes help the staff too.
Positives
I help people to find their own way through life. So to use my past as a brilliant example:
- As Confucius said “If you do work that you love you will never work a day in your life.” That’s true. What do you enjoy?
- Work is such a huge part of your life try not to treat it as a necessity. Yes we have to work, but if you keep the first point in mind it is possible to at least not mind working, and if you’re truly switched on to what you enjoy, have a great time.
- Be determined to find the right work and don’t ever give up.
- The happier you are doing what you do, the easier it is and the more you will thrive. Thriving equals success at work.
- Don’t make work everything, it’s a part of your life. Balance is so important. Love being at work, love not being at work, don’t make your family pay the price. What’s the point of a great job that you love, and a string of failed relationships that produced children who hate you?
Balance, harmony, fun, enjoyment, fulfilment, love, joy, inner peace. These all come from a life that works as a whole.
So there’s my work advice! Be happy, everywhere.
Have a Wonderful Wednesday
Deb xx

You are so kind, you’ve made my day. I’ve watched to turn my past into a tool for change, when people benefit from what I went through, it gives it a positive point that is very healing. I’m grateful for that. Have a wonderful day, and I wish you the same.
