Don’t Buy In

Modern society is full of so much verbal junk. Mainly driven by the various forms of media, but also perpetuated by the strong beliefs of various elements of society.

This verbal junk skews the way we view the world and feel about ourselves as people.

Be discerning

No one gets to tell you what it means to be you. What it means to be a man or a woman, or LGBTIQ. Even gender neutral.

No one gets to tell a woman that she must have children, and call her selfish if she doesn’t.

No one tells the older generations that they’re past it, a drain on society, they paid for the society you live in.

No one can tell anyone that their race or skin colour is in any way wrong.

No one decides which God or religion is best, or whether people must believe. We just need kind respectful people.

As you know, I could continue this list ad infinitum, but you get the picture.

I chose the Latin term there to make the point of exactly how long the list could be.

Too many inflencers

There are so many voices nowadays, particularly on social media, and with the advent of AI we cannot trust a single thing we see or hear.

In a way this will give us much more space to define ourselves. As the only thing we can trust is ourselves. Which will make a novel change.

Simple hacks

1. It’s never been more important to define yourself. Shrug off the outside influences and go within.

2. Sit quietly with your hands over your heart. Relax. No need to breathe in a specific way or attempt meditation. Just be still and peaceful.

3. Wait until your truth surfaces then trust it.

Oh…and act on it.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
