Happy People

Who are your favorite people to be around?

Happy, life affirming people.

The human tendency is to focus on what’s not right in the world, and frankly it’s not a wonder at this time. It’s very hard to stay positive with everything that’s going on.

The wars, political garbage instead of world leaders getting on with running their countries and leaving the rest of the world alone to live in peace and safety.

Ditto terrorists. They think they’re freedom fighters, if they win there will be thousands of people just like them created, with hate in their hearts, working out how to re-turn the tables. Same goes for the Middle East, there are 8 year olds waiting to be old enough to get revenge on Israel. So sad to see their lives destroyed in this way.

Then there are our own streets, which are bad in the UK and hellish elsewhere.

Plus the interminable talk about illness wherever you turn. You can’t open a magazine, switch in the bed, go to a news app, visit the search engine front pages, without seeing something about something that could kill you.

Not to mention the mental (not heath) heath teachings of the present day. Bring back Stoicism for goodness sake!

Awareness is one thing, constant immersion is another. Especially as the power of thought over the body is showing up some amazing results in the latest research. Not that my grandmother didn’t know that decades ago. I was reading books to that effect forty years ago. But there’s far more evidence and knowledge now.

However

Having made those points, because if you’re trying to be positive it’s as important to be realistic as to what you’re up against. Pretending that life is easy in a world this screwed up gets you nowhere.

It has you saying things like “I can’t understand why I feel so low, what’s wrong with me?” The world and the attitude of people around you, particularly your attitude inside, can be a real problem.

Not snowflakes but

We need to surround ourselves by realistic but life affirming people. People who understand what mind chatter and mindless chatter does.

A long fight

I’m not going to pretend to you that I’ve been one of those people. My mind was damaged at a very early age, and I’ve spent 40 years clawing my way back.

Don’t feel despairing if you’re just starting out on this journey, you have a great deal more information, plus a lot more scientific proof at your disposal.

There is as much positive information out there as negative, it’s just not on mainstream news.

I suggest Joe Dispenza, Gregg Bradeb, Bruce Lipton, David R. Hamilton, Mike Dooley, as a starting point. I also suggest soul centred living and thinking.

However, my work (soul centred living) has paid off, especially my recent work, and I’m doing far better. I intend to keep moving that way. I’m at 10% of what I used to be.

My kind of people

People who understand that “Your life is what your thoughts make it.” Marcus Aurelius 1st Century CE. That long ago!

Those people will focus on the positive, they will be active and happy, and you will feel better for being around them.

Who want to do this, have fun, live life, enjoy the moment, be happy.

They’re my kind of people.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
