My First Computer Was…

Write about your first computer.

My brain. I’ve had many technological marvels since, but none can process as much data as fast as the brain. It can think, daydream, laugh, worry, plan, people watch, write, replay songs I love, fill me with fear, fill me with love, light and laughter, return beautiful memories (and crap ones if I choose to go in that direction), and run my body all at once.

It can love my hubby, my cats, my friends, my life, filling me with amazing feelings. Or, if I choose it, it can fill me with pain and fear, real or imagined. I try to stick with the first!

In my case it can connect me to the unseen world of love, to beings who are only love, positivity, and support. Who have simple and magical ways of helping me to navigate this life. Who can heal with the most downright sensible, loving, advice I ever receive.

If you think about the computer it seems like a miracle, but it’s only a pale replica of us. From my first word processor to my current laptop, my phone, my tablets, they were/are all amazing and fun…

But none of them can enrich my life like the ability to see beautiful things, hear the laughter of children, feel the warm sun on my face, smell the newly mown grass, and trigger fight and flight if I need it, like this amazing thing in my head.

Something to think about. Technology is incredible, but we far exceed its capabilities.

All hail the human, can be expensive to run but always well worth the investment in time, love, and happiness. Can be recharged with one bar of chocolate!

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
