You Should Have Seen Her

You really should

She may have wrinkles now – and stretch marks
She may frown more than she laughs
She may not see you as a gift from God
No longer be moved by your youthful charms

She may appear to be yesterday
A mere trickle of the fountain of youth
A faint memory of why you’re together

But inside she is youthful and shy
Loving and giving
Still hoping that the ‘why’ wasn’t a cosmic joke
And that true love is real

She carries a lifetime of knowledge and wisdom in every line
Of how to keep going when all is chaos and sadness
She doesn’t hide from those things at work
Or out with her friends
Or at the bottom of a pint of lager or a bottle of wine

She faces them head on
Knowing that chaos is only one part of life
- And believing -
She can cope

Her heart has been broken many times and yet it still beats strongly
Counting the optimistic moments leading to the next happiness
If one joy does not work for her she will find another
And another
Anywhere
Everywhere
Wherever

She treasures her parenthood and relationships
Knowing that these are the finest parts of her
She walks in love and she bears her children because she created them
And is proud of them

She is femininity
She is wisdom
She is in all of us

She is not necessarily a woman

She is the women who understands
And the man who knows exactly what this means

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
