This phone

What technology would you be better off without, why?

Or maybe not. I do love my phone, it connects me with good friends, family, but it would be better if it were a simple phone not a smart phone.

On the other hand I write all these answers when I wake up in the morning, read the news, catch up with friends, check on Facebook and Threads, remind people I have a book. Share some inspiration. So it’s better that it’s a smart phone not a simple phone.

I can also take photos anywhere, but that means I never take my good camera with extra lenses and stuff, so I’ve got photos but they could be better. Which means a simple phone might be better?

Then there’s music while I’m walking, I live in a mind numbingly boring locality for walking, but then nothing much matches Glastonbury for that, so my music makes it easier to get out the door. Except that I dance my way up the paths and get some strange looks. So my street cred may be better if this wasn’t a smart phone.

But then who wants to be boring and not dance instead of walk? That makes it better that it is a smart phone.

As you can see, it’s a confusing relationship but all in all I might be better off without it, but I do love it.

The joys and confusion of technology. Connecting and separating at the same time. Offering so much more information and knowledge that we can or cannot trust.

🤣🤷‍♀️🤣

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
