Beach or mountains? Which do you prefer? Why?

When I started to walk the spiritual path I became connected to this Earth as never before.

It is, after all, one of the spiritual realms, populated by souls in organic transportation modules. Too may of whom have gone excruciatingly wrong.

Back to Nature

Everything in nature has its point. Water is good for the emotions. Many people relax by the sea. The flow of water seems to cleanse the emotions and stress. I feel that the water atoms flow through my body taking everyday clutter with them.

I visualise a healing lake when I’m stressed and swim in it. Sitting at the bottom watching the fish swim around and the plants move with the water. Feeling the sun warming the water and it holding me in a lovely warm bath. You can’t drown in a visualisation so you don’t even need to be able to swim.

The lovely texture of a sandy beach is like a massage when you walk on it and warm bed when you lie on it. I’m afraid the ouch, ouch, ouch, of walking on pebbles does nothing for me, but they are pretty.

Turning to the Mountains

Mountains represent clarity, the long wide view, vision, taking your energy up towards the purity of spirit, freedom from concerns. We sometimes say that a problem is ‘a mountain to climb’ but no one reminds you of the view from the top, the clean air, the clarity of seeing for miles. Top of the world.

It’s worth climbing a mountain to be on top of the world isn’t it? My anxiety was my mountain, and oh what I’ve got from that climb! Far more than if I’d stayed at the bottom feeling the work would be too much.

Spiritual or Physical

I love both. The sound of the sea, the waves racing in and withdrawing. The soft sand, the breeze, the havoc during a storm, it’s all magnificent.

Mountains are majestic, Everest is mythical, the views are incredible, the flora and fauna amazing. Around a rocky bend you’ll find a field full of wild flowers with an eagle riding the airwaves.

Nature is the most incredible gift in this life, so much to see and do, experience and share, so which do I like the most? Time will tell and I’ll love every second of working that out.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
