If you could meet a historical figure, who would it be and why?

“Your life is what your thoughts make it” Marcus Aurelius
I had three thoughts at once. Firstly, the Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Not only was he known for his wisdom, and for nailing cosmic ordering a millennia ago, but he’s still quoted in books to this day. Imagine inspiring people 1000 years after your death? I’d be after some tips.
The Prophet Amos

‘Simplify, simplify, simplify. Is it as simple as you can make it?’ ‘Yes.’ ‘Then simplify again.’
The first prophet to have a biblical book named after him, his writings also still exist to this day, beating Marcus Aurelius by nearly a century. He also happens to be my spirit guide in this life. He hasn’t changed.
He’s famous for simplifying and making religious teachings easy for the ancients to understand, and the saying above is his current advice for anyone getting their undergarments in a twist. As in me.
It’s hugely wise advice. Complication only makes things harder, problems should be as easy as possible to solve.
However, I don’t need to meet him as we rub along together very nicely right now, and he’s definitely more real than many humans. 🤣
Third thought?
What if I don’t like them when I meet them? Holding historical figures in high esteem, then meeting them is a bit of a scary thought. We visualise these magnificent creatures, when most probably they were struggling along as we do. Marcus Aurelius certainly did, he wrote about it regularly.
However, I know I love Amos, and although Marcus Aurelius was a man of a very different time, his mind was extraordinary so at the very least meeting him would be interesting.

I know I like this version though, he’s truly adorable:
“Humans in power often fall out of favour, but Larry the Cat has been in Downing Street for over a decade and no one wants him to leave! Now that’s how to take and hold onto power. Be a cat!“. MA II
