You Can’t Ask an Historian That!

What historical event fascinates you the most?

This is cruelty! I have to choose one thing?!

Okay, the assassination of John F Kennedy. That was masterfully done right?

However, who could possibly forget where they were when they heard the news? It was cataclysmic.

Not only shocking but the whole thing has more cover ups than a bed linen manufacturer.

Why are the records sealed for 100 years? It seems to me that the answer we seek is so horrific that there can’t be one soul alive who remembers it. They want to launch it into a world of JF who?

They deep sixed the coffin into the deepest ocean in the world? What information did that box hold?

They redact the papers they do release so thoroughly that you basically have conjunctions and full stops.

Recently one of the Secret Service at the time admitted that he picked up a bullet from behind the mayor’s seat and put it on a stretcher. That apparently has completely changed the parameters of what happened. Perhaps the magic bullet was sitting on the floor in the back the entire time.

People at the grassy knoll swear the shots came from behind them. Was Lee Harvey Oswald a decoy. Why would an assassin not pick his bullet casings up? You want to get away right?

Then he’s shot. Why? There could be many reasons but I don’t feel it’s as simple as one man and revenge.

All jokes on one side, I hope his wife and family were at least given an answer. How awful never to know.

Off to sleep now, at least I hope so, if I’m still awake pondering the unknowable at 3 am I know who to blame.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx

      1. Deb, not showing off. I was friends for 4 decades with Jim and Taimi Leavelle. The visited with me in 2001. Taimi passed 1.10.2014 and Jim 29.08.2019. Jim was the Detective who was handcuffed to Lee Harvey Oswald when He was shot by Jack Ruby on 24th November 1963. Of course, I gave had many conversations with Jim about the ‘incident’. Jim was the first Officer to interview Lee after Officer JD Tippit was shot and Jim accompanied LHO to Parkland Hospital where LHO was pronounced dead. Jim maintained there was sufficient evidence to secure a conviction had LHO survived to face trial. I’m fortunate to have seen all the sites, from Commerce to Elm Street. The cell where Oswald was detained, the basement where the shooting took place. I can answer the questions as to how Ruby managed to be in the position to shoot Oswald, why Ruby shot Oswald. All directly from Jim. Jim refused to have is name on the credits of the Oliver Stone Movie as it was pure fiction. Jim was the advisor for movie. There are so many conspiracy theorists out there, I don’t find it amusing. I wish I did. Robert Oswald told Jim he had no doubt his brother was the assassin. I’m also in touch with Clint Hill, Mrs Kennedy’s special agent. I was in touch with Ms Tippit, JD’s widow until her death.

      2. Deb, I would like to think so. No shooter on the Grassy Knoll. Jack Ruby has made it know, years before the ‘incident’ he wanted to be a National hero. He thought he was taking revenge on behalf of Mrs Kennedy. His face was familiar to the police officers as he owned the Carousel Club so, Jack dressed in the ‘uniform’ of the ‘Press’, dark suit, tie and trilby hat. That is how he managed to mingle with the rest of the Press. Jim was NOT the man ‘in the white suit’, his outfit was light tan. Hope that was useful.
