What does it mean to be a kid at heart?

Children are thrilled by life. All the new things they see everyday. From the moment they can see the world is full of wonder. They’re untouched by the reality of adults.
Obviously reality has to catch up with us, but wonder shouldn’t be discarded in the long grass, lost in a morass of cynicism.
There is much to despair of in life in the modern world, but much more that is wonderful. No matter how old you are there is something you don’t know, somewhere you haven’t been, sights you haven’t seen.
You can never know it all, and believing that you’ve got life nailed is the fastest way to age.
For example, we all know the Grand Canyon is big right? We can state that with absolute confidence.
I’ve been there. It’s not big. It’s not even large or vast. It’s immense. Over 10 miles wide at one point. It’s not just deep, it reduces the mighty Colorado River to a 1” muddy ribbon. It has rock formations carved by the sea that look like the temples at Angkor Wat. Immense rock formations.
Unless you’ve seen it you don’t know, and if you have seen it, there are other things to see, to learn, to experience.
To me, being a kid at heart means to continue to explore the wonders this world and its peoples offer, with as much enthusiasm as when you discovered your first snail.
