The day job

I chose university lecturer in history for my day job, but unfortunately that didn’t work out. In truth that wasn’t a bad thing, although it wasn’t good either, but it did leave me to work on one of my three callings, the spiritual field as a psychic medium.

I loved that work, it was hard, harder than people think, but also amazing and rewarding.

The strength of a psychic is that they can understand a total stranger on sight. We can feel what you’re feeling and help you to find a way forward. We can feel your truth, and no I’ve never encountered a bad person, nor have I heard many psychics say that.

Frankly, I know no one who’s read for a murderer, myself included, I can honestly say that most people are just hurting and confused. Trust me, if a murderer or abuser came near us we’d feel it before they walked into the room.

The strength of mediumship is that we can take people that one step from total grief to the start of healing, and bring comfort further along the line. Bearing in mind that true mediumship is based on verifiable evidence. Neither mediums nor psychics use ‘soft’ readings, spirit tell me you’re feeling a bit low today.

As you can tell I’m passionate about the work and love it, but only do it now when I’m called to do it. It’s the second thing that moved back a step.

Writer

The muse deserted me for over 20 years, and for that entire time a key piece of me was missing. I’d get flashes of writing, writing an entire series of poems in one day, then it would go again. The best thing I did was switching to WordPress and starting a proper blog.

The muse isn’t really back, but writing every day is helping me as a person, I feel whole again. Like me again. I’m also helping people I hope, just getting some helpful thoughts out there for people to put together in a way that supports them. That’s important to me and actually doing it feels good. I recommend WordPress to anyone.

This is my career path now, I don’t regret the two mentioned whether they worked out or not, and mediumship and public speaking are something I will still do if I get the opportunity or can make one. Public speaking being the form of speaking I realise I really wanted to do, lecturing in something as important as history would have been a wonderful second best.

So here I am! Right here, if you need some ideas to move forward in life.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
