Age Two Apparently

When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?

But certainly by 9!

My mother said that I was born 40, and it was my perfect age when I got there, I loved it.

I was never popular as a young person as adults made sense to me. I was also teacher’s pet, partly because I had no interest in being in trouble, partly because I liked them. It was my own generation I didn’t relate to.

It’s similar now, I’m a youthful 66 with no children to age me.

Feeling super-grown-up!

Where I feel most like a grown up is in a way I didn’t expect to experience. I’m sure you’ll empathise.

When I see people starting wars, killing, maiming, terrorising others, this world starts to feel really juvenile to me. How can we have come this far, nearly 200,000 years far as Cro-Magnon man and still live in a world full of violence?

How can we still be so scared that we have to kill to feel safe and powerful? Validated?

That makes me feel like a grown up in a world full of highly underdeveloped humans.

But in truth many people will feel like me, kind, compassionate, respectful, inclusive people, who aren’t scared of those who are different. Who see no reason we can’t get along, let the past go, and live and let live in literal terms.

I’m so glad you’re there.

P.S. I’m a kid at heart, adulting is not that much fun. See you in the sand box, bring your own spade!

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
