Winners and Losers

I thought you had me beaten

You didn’t

I thought you’d broken me

You hadn’t

I thought you’d diminished me to nothing

Extinguished my light

Rendered me powerless

Yet

You made me worthless in your eyes

Never my own

Somehow I held on

Inside me there was a small but powerful

No

A tiny part standing back

Observing you

Knowing that you were wrong

But

There came the day

That fraction was all that was left of me

But it turned out that was the best of me

The love you could not corrupt

Could not destroy

Could not ever kill

When I thought I was done

When the human felt beaten

My soul said

No

I am born of love

I am intended to love

And I saw you for what you are

And what you are not

I turned to my soul

And found

The most powerful force in existence

I could feel that power within me

A power I could not let down

To do so would be to betray myself

The element of all that is

Within

When I connected to that energy

I was returned to my true self

Because I chose to

I wanted to be

Me

I found my truth within me

And now I am that truth

So you didn’t diminish me

Extinguish my light

Or render me powerless

You did that to yourself

I

Turned away from hurt

Turned within

Found the light

And followed it

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
