How Much Time Do You Have?

What bothers you and why?

I recall a line from the show Frasier, where his brother asks Frasier and his father what is wrong with his wife? Martin replies “You start Frais and I’ll jump in when you get hoarse”. That neatly encapsulates my reaction.

We have a beautiful earth and we’re destroying it. Choking it with plastic, treating it with contempt.

We have a rich diversity in this world yet we constantly try to kill or crush others.

A piece of land you call home or think you own, despite evidence to the contrary, is a good reason to kill a few million. Not just in the present, but for thousands of years.

A tutor once told us that the world is designed to walk until you need a boat. There are no borders or boundaries except the seas and oceans. But the moment you put a fence around a garden you create something to be protected.

As such, what bothers me, is how pathetic humanity is. The fears we live in. The boundless abundance we destroy. The refusal to protect what we do not and cannot own.

The fact that we view other life forms as less than us, take their lives and their habitats, when we aren’t worthy to worship at their feet, fins, or wings.

We destroy everything we touch and we’re leaving a hell for our children on what ought to be a heaven.

I could go on until I am hoarse, I’m sure you could too, but I’ll leave this with just one question:

When on earth are we going to grow up?

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
