Personality and Beliefs

What’s something you do completely differently from how you were raised?

I came to a stage where I realised that I didn’t fit into my family, I was quite different. It started age 7 when I went to church alone, and it grew from there.

I found God.

Eventually I realised that the line “God is everywhere” was true. There was no point in being good on Sundays and reverting for the rest of the week. A church was not the only place you could find God. Not the only window He could peak through. He can look straight into your heart and find you.

That switch made me think about how I behaved all the time. Not deeply at first, certainly not with any great success. I was a child, then a teenager, then a young married, and I was struggling with all the changes life was throwing at me. Not doing particularly well.

Those were my barren years, there was no light.

One day I realised that I had followed the family pattern, some of which was good, my family were only human. However, what wasn’t good really wasn’t, and I had allowed myself to drift along with the tide.

I felt sick, horrified, ashamed, and furious all at once. How had I become so lost?

God is everywhere

It took no time at all for him to find me. First in the form of my friend and mentor, then other good people started coming into my life and leading the way.

I became a Medium, in the middle of a phone call. I was known as The Unexpected Medium. It was a complete shock and I had no idea what to do with the ability. With the help of more good people I worked it out.

Then I realised that classic Mediumship wasn’t my path, much as I loved it. It wasn’t just about passing messages it was about the connection.

The Mediumship connection can bring great peace and healing, but when you really listen, there is another voice behind it, another energy available to you. That’s when God really caught up with me.

I found me in my belief, turned to a personal knowledge, that there is a spirit world, encompassed by the most beautiful energy, and our energy is part of it. We are one.

We can choose that energy over anger, hate, unworthy behaviour, and crime. It’s part of all of us and we only have to look. Respecting that energy is a very simple way to change profoundly.

It’s such a wonderful energy you want to manifest it all the time.

I am not that person who drifted astray anymore. I’ve done a lot of work on myself, not introspective, but being aware of my effect on others and fine tuning that to be a force for good.

Treating others with respect at all times, without ever asking if they deserve it, everyone deserves it and if at first they can’t accept it, maybe I will have cracked that wardrobe door open a little for them?

To treat them without respect would mean that external forces were being allowed to change me, again. No way.

I’m not unrealistic though. I know how this world is, and there are way too many that I have no respect for whatsoever, but the only way to counter that is to be the change that’s needed.

If you can’t beat them and you join them – what then?

More of everything the world doesn’t need that’s what. Not my path.

So there’s your answer. I am, of course, both the woman and the wardrobe.

And the woman in the wardrobe.

The place I found myself was within me.

Where I always was. Where you are.

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
