There are Thousands

If you could erase one event from history, what would it be?

Some all bad, some that led to good being done. The atrocity of the Colonial times that led to the Commonwealth. We can learn. However, I simply cannot stick with just one unless:

The creation of humanity

That’s it, solved in one word.

But then look at the amazing and incredible people that exist and have existed, to not witness their lives would have been a tragedy. So it’s no solution.

It’s also heartbreaking to think that this place would have been way better off without us. The recent droughts, floods, wildfires alone tell us that. Without the wars, the abuse and violence, the pollution, the trolls. The lying, cheating, and stealing. The decimation of the animal kingdom.

I’ll stop before I depress us all.

The sad thing is that this place would have been better off without men, but again that’s no solution because of the millions of decent, loving, honourable men out there. There are also many poisonous, angry, spiteful women.

But men and power is an intense problem to this day. One word: Afghanistan. Says it all.

Every event in history has been driven by humans, as such dividing us from the problem isn’t possible. I did a blog once on the 7 Atomic Bombs that destroyed everything:

  • Realising that there were two genders, and deciding that having spherical attachments at the chest was not as important as having them below the waist.
  • Having your own cave – gave you something to defend.
  • Drawing imaginary lines, saying this is my territory, and wanting to keep ‘the other’ out.
  • Deciding that ‘other’ is bad.
  • Looking at the colour of skin and deciding that only my colour is right.
  • The moment someone sharpened flint was good, the first time someone stuck it on the end of a stick and into one of ‘the other’? War, genocide, Gaza, Ukraine. All from that moment. All that line drawing.
  • Power. When power appeared, freedom and autonomy became the gift of others. Those in power.

If I have to make a choice

I’d struggle to stick with one thing. If you look back over history you will know I’m right. One thing though?

A complete reset of the past. There are too many important things, unfair things, shocking things, to remove just one.

I thought about my own life. Was there one thing I’d remove from that? I concluded that too would have to start at the fundamental level. To be born into a family that knew how to love. I might have realised decades sooner that I deserve to be loved.

Everything from global to personal starts with a fundamental, and from tiny acorns big Oak trees grow.

Love and Peace

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
