I Can’t Keep Saying None đź¤Ł

What’s a movie or book that inspired you to travel?

My dad traveled the Northern Hemisphere in the Merchant Navy, my uncle traveled the world in the Royal Navy. I don’t need inspiration to travel, it’s in my genes!

We haven’t had many holidays due to my husband’s job. His last boss in finance hadn’t had a holiday for four years. Finance is brutal and full of deadlines. You can’t miss a financial deadline.

We had hoped to be better off when he retired, but circumstances changed. There will be holidays, but not at the moment. Two cats on medication that cannot be missed. Years ago we had a veterinary nurse as a cat sitter, that was perfect!

Plus the airport image is enough to put anyone off!

However, I’ve mentioned a medical condition which I don’t name because that would be to own it. I have a beyond fantastic medical team and I leave everything to them and mind my own business.

It was something I never thought I’d be able to cope with, not since I was a very young child. Yet I am, and there is no doubt in my mind that I have gained far more from this than I’ve lost. Not something I could ever have expected. I read something recently that has stuck in my mind:

Sometimes the worst thing that has ever happened to you can turn out to be the best!

For me that is true. To put this in perspective I’m on long-term care and they’re getting tremendous results with people. A friend of a friend has been on this care for 30 years! I don’t need to be 100 🤣.

So do I care about holidays? No I care about now, hubby, family/friends. Family includes pets. I care about feeling good, and I feel better than I’ve felt for two years.

I don’t need to be inspired to travel, I have a list, but those queues, the state of the world, not knowing what the silly leaders will do next, not Ukraine though, they were attacked.

It all makes travel a little more complicated, unless you’re in the Americas or mainland Europe where on your own land mass you can drive to so many amazing and wonderful places. We could do that until the idiotic Brexit vote gave us back borders we don’t need. We are Europeans and I am proud of that.

All for one and one for all is my motto!

Every day is a miracle, travel or no travel. Every ordinary thing you do is a pearl beyond price if you feel good!

Three pieces of advice

  • If you’re unhappy change it.
  • If you can’t change it, walk away.
  • Nothing is more important than feeling good. NOTHING!
  • Read the last one three times and believe it! Act on it.

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
