How do you balance work and home life?

Mission accomplished.
However, I would say that work life balance is very hard to achieve nowadays unless you’re a millionaire. But one thing I wish I’d known that would have made things so much better is to keep life simple and plan don’t drift.
Stretch yourself to buy your first house and make it a keeper. Constantly upgrading gets more and more expensive.
Focus on reducing debt and paying off mortgages.
Do not have loads of clothes and stuff. Purchase carefully choose wisely.
Holidays and family time are more important than the latest tv or car.
Try to work locally if you can. It saves a fortune in petrol and hours of time.
Think about your career, don’t just stumble into any job that will have you.
Plan your life carefully because it and you are important.
Many older people will tell you that they would have been far more aware of how they chose to live their life, if only someone had thought to mention things like this.
It’s too easy to wonder where the last 60 years went. Or as my mother once said to me when I wished I was old enough to do what I liked…
Don’t start wishing that, one day you’ll be 21, the next you’ll be 42, and the next you’ll be wondering what happened!
My mum
I’m wondering what happened.
You have been warned.
Be mindful – be aware – think! You only have one life in this moment, make every effort to be happy.
Nothing is more important than feeling good

Take steps to make that real every day of your life.

Really practical and honest reflection here Deb. Life balance often comes down to simple, intentional choices: reducing debt, living within means, and prioritizing people over possessions. The reminder to plan instead of drift really stands out. Time moves quickly, and what we choose daily shapes the life we end up looking back on. 🙏

Great post, Deb, and the advice is spot on. I had an unexpected career break and having some of those foundations in place has made it so much easier to manage. Not sure what the future holds but in this moment I’m doing what I want after ‘waiting’ for nearly a lifetime ☺️
