Fruit and Nutcase

List your top 5 favorite fruits.

Years ago in the UK there was an advert for Cadburys Fruit and Nut chocolate bars, with the very catchy song “everyone’s a fruit and nutcase”. A nutcase bring a happily crazy person.

It was one of those ditties that you find yourself singing 40 years later, it was so cheerful.

The truth is though that fruits and nuts are incredibly good for you, except…

Tell your doctor that you drink fruit juice in the morning and you’ll get a pat on the back, tell your dentist and they’ll have a nervous breakdown!

Shrieking about how that stuff sticks to the teeth and is spawn of the devil will ensue, windows will rattle, Valium may be required.

Tell your doctor you love nuts and you’ll be met with “not too many I hope those things are full of fats!”

Between what’s good for our bodies and bad for our teeth we poor humans have to decide who we want to be in trouble with.

Even everything in moderation doesn’t work! Normally you only drink a small glass of fruit juice but even that makes your dentist go white.

However, fruits are good for us so we just need to be exemplary brushers, and maybe fib to the dentist a bit for the sake of their mental health!

“Fruit juice? Never heard of it!”

Kidding of course, fibbing is wrong. Get to the door, yell two pints a day and run. When they find out you only have one small glass they’ll be so relieved. Also don’t tell them that’s in a vodka at the pub, as part of your post work sanity retrieval process.

Again kidding! Alcohol really is dangerous when you’re stressed, it gives you an illusion of feeling better.

Favourite fruits

Having had a bit of fun with that, my favourite fruits are:

  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Apples
  • Bananas
  • Erm

I’m not into citrus fruits but I do like a slice of lemon and/or lime in sparkling water.

Ultimately though I am and I’m not a fruit and nutcase, I love a small amount of chocolate, nuts are fine, but I cannot bear chocolate with fruit in it.

The song was nice but the chocolate is disgusting.

Best Love

Be a happy nutcase (in moderation – the nuts not the happiness, go OTT with that!)

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
