Now You’re Asking!

Describe a positive thing a family member has done for you.

Total head scratcher! Taking time to think about that…

Five hours later…

I’m stumped. I can’t think of anything going back years, I’m sure I’m wrong but…

However, my husband is full of positives, never more so than at the moment. Although his work pressures have often been overwhelming, if I or the cats have really needed him he has been there.

I also have a dear friend who is practically a sister, and she is there whenever I need her. Plus my artist friend of many years, who has always had my back and stood up for me.

I have other friends who go the extra mile, are there when I need them, and I feel very, very lucky. Especially my group friends.

They are the family I choose for myself.

As to my actual family, we haven’t been close for years. I’m still in touch with my brother and sister-in-law and their brood, but we don’t live close by, I love them all though, and my niece keeps in good touch, which is wonderful.

However, when you consider that the interference of others ripped us apart for years, I’m very grateful that they’re just present in my life. After a miserable family past, them being there is blessing enough.

Best love

Amorah – Deb

P.S. There’s still nothing like a cuddle from a cat though…don’t tell anyone I said that! Shhhh….

P.P.S. A very kind blogger commented on this post and reminded me of something. My brother made the call that allowed us to rebuild our relationship. I will always be so grateful for that. Particularly the wonderful sister (in-law) and children that came with it.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx

    1. Thank you. A lot of damage was done in my family age my entire generation paid for it, which was sad. My brother and I built a new relationship, which is wonderful, but sadly he’s struggling with dementia now. But you’ve reminded me of something he did! Thank you so much. But yes friends are the family you choose for yourself.
