Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

This is Mimzy, sister of Lily. They came to us after the loss of our beloved Amie, which was particularly painful for reasons I don’t want to think about anymore.
The girls hadn’t been handled much when we got them, so she and I falling asleep together like that was a special moment.

My cats have always been my joy. I have had fun in my life but that stopped thirty years ago when I learned what it meant to be at the top in business. Not enough hours in the week to have a life.
I’m sure some people thrive on it, but my hubby didn’t. He was in entirely the wrong career but by the time he realised that he was well and truly pigeon holed.
I realised it almost immediately, but he didn’t know me well enough to trust me then. His friends thought I was trying to control him and interfered. I was trying to save him.
So, since I got Marby and Geris in 1984 to save my sanity, which they did bless them, cats have been my joy and still are.
I have good friends who are also a joy, and inherited a gorgeous daughter and her family.
I have my brother and for the first time in weeks we had a really clear conversation last week. Which was the best. He’s not well.
Sometimes when I write I get the old feeling of being in the right flow. Tony and I rub along together very happily after 34 years, but ultimately the simplest joy is the cats.
They’re right there in my house. How lucky am I?
I think Tony would agree. Neither of us are simple, which is either a good or bad thing depending on how human we’re being.
Have a lovely, loved, loving, day.
Deb xx

Mimzy, lily, and amie, hugs to you all. I enjoyed watching you. Thank you for loving them, Deb. Indeed, cats are my simplest joy, too. I tell them: I love you every day.
