The BIG Question

It’s modern and filled with light. It’s on top of a hill with a fabulous view.

It has eco heating and lighting and is self-sustaining.

There is a balcony from the living room on the first floor.

It has two master suites with walk in wardrobes and en suite bathrooms.

Plants love it.

There is a beautiful, safe garden for the cats, and room for their own outside wooden house, with access to the house via cat flaps.

The floors are heated and scattered with huge colourful rugs.

The kitchen is modern, there’s a breakfast bar looking out over the countryside. I think there’s a lake with ducks and swans in the distance.

The ground floor is open plan, with a seating area to enjoy the view, a dining table and chairs, an outside patio area, and two studies. His and hers. I get the best view because writers need space to think.

The house is built into the hill, and the top floor is only a little higher than the downstairs, but set back. It’s accessed by two slopes rather than stairs, which are a lot easier to vacuum. The slopes are like curved arms, and the seating area is between them.

Most importantly of all, it’s self cleaning.

That’s a thing, right?

Wishing you a wonderful day

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx

    1. It’s more the lake and the birds. In this country we have grand homes, as I’m sure you do, but they are no guarantee of happiness. In my early childhood we were very poor, struggling to find money for food, but I have never been so happy as I was then, surrounded by love. My mum made my clothes, and they were so pretty. I asked for a dustpan and brush, and a floor sweeper, for Christmas to help mummy clean the house, they were so touched I got THREE presents that year. I lived in a real community where we took care of each other. Then money came in, we moved somewhere fancy, and everything got worse. The people weren’t friendly. The family broke apart over it. I feel so sorry that my brother didn’t experience that. You have a form of perfection that few people will ever know. I love seeing how natural your life is. I’m sure it has its challenges, but it looks so free.

  1. Aw, thank you so much, deb. My family is my wealth, and I consider wealthy just by their presence, not on money or luxury things. I appreciate what I have and we love each other, and that’s more than enough for me. Problems come and go but we help together to solve it. Sometimes money if not managed well can ruin lives. Lost of quality time.

With all due humbleness, I would agree about being wealthy on things that matters most, not fancy or luxury things. Yes, there’s always challenges but with them and with faith in God, we can surpass it.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment, deb. I’m so sorry for your brother about not experience what a real home is. Sending you and your brother love and hugs.

There’s still beauty around you, I believe. I pray my family will always be united and that my simple stories will inspire lots of people to see real beauty in the world.

    Stay blessed, deb.
