What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?

I actually feel like that look when I try to come up with an answer.
It hasn’t been an easy year, it began by Amie cat becoming unwell, followed by a very confusing rollercoaster of hope and despair, followed by the ultimate crushing defeat. She was 14, but as we know, no loved one is ever old enough to lose.
Then nothing much happened, which is really rather wonderful. Peace.
Then we were told that we needed to go look for another kitten as she wanted to come back. This is, of course, a very personal belief, but if you’ve ever had a pet who is so much like a predecessor it’s untrue, well you just have to at least wonder if there’s more to life than this.
Read about past lives and that has to make you think.
It was actually a very sad journey, a rescue centre that we trusted absolutely were so obstructive it was unbelievable. Even though we have two of their alumni and were already approved.
I can see why now, and it all worked out, you don’t beat Spirit. They sent her and her sister to another local centre who were wonderful. I should have trusted more, but I was pretty desperate not to miss her.
So really those girls have been the highlight. Although, as I say, a good year where life ticks along happily is a brilliant year.
I’ll end with a little story.
No fear
When you first get kittens they tend to be cautious when they explore their new surroundings. Taking their time. Flexing their back legs into a slight crouch, ready to push off at the first sign of danger.
Nero, another returnee, had no such qualms, simply strolled out of the room and went wandering like he owned the place. Marcus, the beautiful bonus, was far more cautious.
Mimsy wandered out as soon as the door was opened, quite casually. Lily, the other beautiful bonus, was like any normal kitten in a strange place.
Surprisingly we haven’t had every kitten in the world, but these are kittens 11 and 12. Nero and Mimsy stand out as being different.
Comforting thought
If you’re wondering why your beloved pet hasn’t come back, you may just not have realised. If you don’t believe this is possible why would it even occur to you?
The one thing that’s always struck me is how I found all my cats. On each and every occasion it’s been really weird, and absolutely perfect timing.
I’ll do a blog on it. I was doing a list of miracles, I’ll check back.
Maybe you can’t believe how a pet arrived in your life? Maybe there were a set of synchronicities? Maybe they remind you so much of another but you haven’t really thought about it?
Amie cat was born on our wedding anniversary. Walked in, took over the house, and just cuddled. We used to hand her across when we needed to move, then take her back if the other one needed to move. She didn’t even stir. She was absolutely perfectly content and at home.
When I say you may not have thought of it, that’s made me think because in those days neither would I. It seems as plain as a pikestaff now as we Brits say.
I wrote this bit because I would hate for anyone to feel that they haven’t been blessed in this way, Spirit doesn’t play favourites, and I’ve landed up making myself think more about miracles. Now that’s funny!
