One of the worst things about stress, anxiety, and depression is that you can become stuck in the trap of a self-fulfilling prophecy. I am anxious, I am depressed, I am a nervous wreck, all become what you are. The I Am.
Of course you need to take control of your mind somehow in order to change that I Am, moving through I Am NOT to I Am something I love. Or do you need to take control of your mind?
Heart Centred Living
There are more brain cells in your heart than in your brain, and it is our emotions that create our thoughts and our life journey. You can find out more about this at heartmath.org or greggbraden.com. It’s all science and they’re continually doing more research and updating their findings.
Briefly (as I’ve mentioned this before)
The body has an emotion and tells the brain, the brain then creates neurons for that emotion and programmes it into the receptors around the cells in the body. The body then delivers that programme to you. The more anxious you are, the more neurons are created in the brain, so more cell receptors are trained to deliver anxiety, and the more anxious you get. When you can break that pattern you are out the other side of your mental struggles and on a new path.
That’s the ever-developing lifecycle of your mental challenges. The great news is that you can do the same thing over again, but having good emotions that send good messages to the brain, and then just like a computer your programming will be over-written and after a couple of updates you’ll be ready to move into a new you and a new life. You can also learn more about this from Joe Dispenza.
Discipline (eek)
Yes it will take mental discipline, but again all you have to do is monitor your thoughts, and when a bad one arises deliberately think a better thought:
- Bad thought happens (no time to tell yourself off immediate action is required)
- Think ‘cancel’
- Put hand on heart
- Think a better thought
EG: I’m dreading feeling this bad tomorrow…cancel…hand on heart…tomorrow is going to be a good day!
Feelings it’s all Feelings
This is where the heart comes into it. If you just say the word cancel, then just say a better sentence, nothing will change. If you put your hand on your heart and say cancel and mean it, then you tune into your heart and allow a feeling of joy to come forward, thinking about what a good day could mean, then tomorrow is going to be a good day will mean something and it will start to happen.
Like everything it’s work in progress, but here’s the crux of the matter, if you don’t feel that you can create a better life then you won’t be authentic in asking for it. The heart and brain know when you mean it!
No Self-loathing!
This is exactly as easy as it sounds, but it will feel hard to do as you’re wiping old programming. You are going to have to become aware of your thoughts, learn to monitor them without becoming obsessed by every single negative thought (shut up you is a good reaction to the wobbles). You are going to have to learn to feel joy, and that again is easier than it sounds.
Pick a Good Memory
Sit for a moment and think about a good memory. Now your negative ninny may immediately say that you don’t have one, but in truth most people can find one or two. Deliberately sift though your memories until you find one that makes you feel good. Focus on that memory and relearn that feeling. You could do this several times a day for practice, maybe for a few moments on waking, and before you go to sleep.
Once your trained to recognise the feeling of joy you will have a good solid start. The best thing about this is that you will also notice your unhappy, angry, upsetting, anxious, thoughts far faster and dislike them far more, and deal with them like a ninja.
Until the next blog I’ll leave you with three thoughts.
- You don’t deserve to be unhappy
- You can’t change the past
- You can change the present and the future
You are a technological marvel waiting to come into its own. You really are.
To your happiness and full recovery
